February 21 – Proud Haven
Proud Haven is a safe shelter for homeless LGBTQ+ youth in Pittsburgh. In addition, Proud Haven is dedicated to providing emotional support and resources to help LGBTQ+ youth develop skills needed to live independently.
May 9 – 412 Youth Zone
412 Youth Zone is providing assistance to teens and young adults ages 16 to 24 who are homeless or have been in the foster care system. A place designed for youth to gain stability, build positive relationships, learn life skills, meet basic needs, foster creative expressions and be guided on the right path towards a brighter future.
August 8 – Prevention Point Pittsburgh
Prevention Point is a clean needle exchange program servicing Oakland, the Hill District, and Perry Hilltop. In addition to needle exchange services, PPP has grown to include comprehensive case management services, assistance to drug treatment, individualized risk-reduction counseling, condom and bleach distribution, overdose prevention with Narcan prescription, and free HIV, Hepatitis C, and syphilis screening in collaboration with the Allegheny County Health Department.
November 14 – Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR)
PAAR's mission is to Respond, Educate, and Advocate for victims of sexual violence. Through counseling, community training, and both medical and legal advocates, PAAR seeks to help those who have been through sexual trauma and lower the rate of sexual violence in our community.
